Meet Jacey Papenhagen

Raised in Durango, Jacey brings both deep local roots and a strong background in healthcare billing to our team. As our Director of Billing, she specializes in insurance verification and claims management, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience for every patient behind the scenes.

From 2018 to 2020, Jacey played a vital role in modernizing our practice by digitizing patient records and transitioning paper charts to our electronic medical records system. Before stepping into her current role in 2024, she founded and operated her own mobile dog grooming business from 2021-2024. Owning and running Shampooch Mobile Grooming proved to be a rewarding endeavor that sharpened her entrepreneurial mindset and customer service skills.

Recently married, Jacey and her husband have returned to Durango with their beloved cat and are thrilled to be back in the community they love. When she’s not navigating the world of insurance, she enjoys off-roading, playing softball, and exploring the beauty of southwest Colorado.
